UN's Global Hand Washing Day

Hygiene experts, from Queen Mary University of London and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, suggest that 11% of all hands carry as many germs as a dirty toilet bowl. (Source: BBC News, 15 Oct 12).

How to wash hands properly:
  • Wet hands, apply soap and the rub palms together until the soap is bubbly.
  • Rub each palm over the back of the other hand.
  • Rub between the fingers on each hand.
  • Rub the backs of fingers (interlocked).
  • Rub around each of the thumbs.
  • Rub both palms with finger tips then rinse.
  • Dry the hands well.
