FS1 Week 45 2012

The children have had an exciting week learning about different celebrations, such as Bonfire Night and St. Martin’s Day.

The children have made lanterns and practised their singing of Laterne, Laterne” so, when the doorbell rings on Saturday night, they will know exactly what to do. Don’t forget to have your sweets at the ready too.

Snack this week will be fruit kebabs, toast and jam/marmite, vegetables and dips, homemade carrot and potato soup and campfire surprise, with Pudsey Bear biscuits as a treat. Snack this week has been very popular. The children are becoming very independent, collecting what they need, pouring their own drinks and even helping each other to clear away the table. Well done children.

FS1 Children Work On A Digital Table

Children In Need: On Friday 16 November, FS1 is planning to have a Pyjama Day to celebrate with Pudsey Bear. A variety of activities is planned, like making and decorating biscuits, face painting and puppet making, so please join us in your pyjamas at Stay and Play. Don’t forget to bring a euro or two to donate to such a worthy cause.

Please help: Next week, we will be starting our Explorer and Camping Under the Night Sky unit, to link with our topic for this half term, of Light and Dark. We need yoghurt pots and empty kitchen roll tubes, to help us during this unit. Please send them in over the next few days, if you can; the children’s fun depends on it. Thank you.

Update: our parents and carers will be interested in this BBC Education News article, dated 23 November 2012, about the advantages of digital interactive desks and tables.
