Year 1 Week 46 2012

Another busy week has flown by!

A 'Chilli, Yes Please' face?
The children have enjoyed reading the story about Lima’s red hot chilli and they have all written some excellent descriptions about the food that Lima tried. Today, we opened the coconut, so that we could see what it was like inside.

In Art, Mr Fidler helped the children to draw facial expressions that show different emotions. In Science, the children went for a listening walk and tried to make different sounds by using a range of materials and instruments that they found.

During Maths, the children have been learning to add by counting on using a number line. Some of them discovered that it is easier to put the biggest number first.

This week, for homework, we are asking the children to do some weekend reading. We would like them to share a favourite story with an adult. Next week, we will be asking the children to tell us about which stories they like and why.
