On BBC Four tomorrow night at 8pm (and again on Thursday morning, 10 January, at 2am) there is an opportunity to see / record a little bit of history which centres on all of us here in Germany Timeshift: The British Army of the Rhine.
According to the TV Guide website ... this is, 'The story of British servicemen and their families who made a home in the Rhineland in the decades following the Second World War.
The programme tells of how generations grew up on military bases in Germany that became outposts of Britishness, and reveals how the Ministry of Defence is preparing to finally pull its forces out of the area.
Featuring contributions by military historian Max Hastings and BBC sports commentator Barry Davies, who was based in the area during his National Service.'
PS There is an historical programme on the last Falklands Campaign on Channel 5 at 7pm UK on Friday 18 January. Set your recorders accordingly.
