Year 3 Week 18 2014

Hunting Clues About Greece
Welcome back after the Easter break. The children have settled back extremely well and worked very hard!

An exciting start to the week saw the launch of our Greek topic with a treasure hunt for both ancient and modern Greek ‘artefacts’ and a sampling of Grecian cuisine! In relation to this, if you have any resources linked to Greece that you could loan us, this would be much appreciated.

In Literacy we have begun familiarising the children with what a myth is and have started our unit on Theseus and the Minotaur.

In mathematics both groups have been working on partitioning and recombining 3 digit numbers.

Olives - Taste Quality Assurance
In R.E. the children have been introduced to sacred texts through music and artefacts.

We finished our photo story work in ICT with a project using the images from our Victorian School Day.

Finally we would like to congratulate all the children who participated in the Lister races!

Reminders:
Please remember a daily reading session of about 10 minutes will really help your child’s progress. Also a few questions about what
they have read will help aid comprehension.
Please return homework folders every Wednesday so that new tasks can be added.
Please bring in P.E kits on Monday -  these will be sent home on Fridays.

Many Thanks for your continued support!
Mr. Askew and Mr. Kerray
