Year 1 Week 20 2014

Lunch In Bielefeld's Forest, In The Rainy Season
Forest Schools: Thank you for ensuring your child had all the necessary equipment for our “day out” on Wednesday. The children had a wonderful outdoor learning experience which has also inspired further creative work in the classroom. Many thanks to Mrs Carroll, Mrs Shields and Mr Halstead for all their hard work.

In Literacy each child has begun to write their own book about Forest Schools. The children have written an introduction about Forest Schools and recorded the equipment that is needed, explaining why. As authors and illustrators, the children will continue to include photographs, drawings and writing in their books.
Friends Forever

In Mathematics the children have been using a 100 square to solve subtraction problems by counting back. We are continuing to emphasise the importance of forming every number correctly in written work.

Nature Moment: If your child notices something of particular interest outside, we would like them to make a note on an enclosed “Nature Moment”. This can then be added to their individual Forest Schools book.

Thank you for your continued support, Mrs Hawker and Mrs Halstead.
