Year 1 Week 21 2014

Practising Phonics This Week
In Literacy each child has made a front and back cover for their own book about Forest Schools.

The children have thought carefully about the title of their books and what to include in the blurb. We have also been discussing how to make sure that we are safe in the sun and near the fire. (Our toasted marshmallows were delicious!)

Camp Fire Marshmallows
In Mathematics the children have been describing and matching 3D shapes. They have used mathematical vocabulary such as faces, corners and edges when identifying the properties of cones, cylinders, cubes, cuboids, spheres, pyramids and triangular prisms.

Forest Schools: All of our children will be lucky enough to continue with Forest Schools activities every Wednesday afternoon until July.

In addition to waterproofs, wellies etc. please ensure your child always has long trousers, joggers or leggings. It is important for legs to be covered so that we minimise the risk of ticks.

Have a wonderful holiday! Thank you for your continued support. Mrs Hawker and Mrs Halstead.
