Year 3 Week 24 2014

Completing Gorgon Pictures
Another busy but rewarding week in Year 3 where the children have ploughed on despite the soaring temperatures!

In English there has been romance in the air with the children writing love poems from the beautiful Ariadne to the handsome Theseus! We have looked at and used Haikus for this - 3 lined poems with a 5/7/5 syllable pattern.

In Mathematics Mr Kerray’s group have revised number patterns involving money, ordering numbers as well as addition, subtraction and multiplication. Mr. Askew’s group have revised calculations and shape.

In RE we reflected on last week’s story of Bilal and devised our own call to prayer through words and photographs.

ICT saw the completion of our Greek food posters using Textease publisher.

Adding Some Finishing Touches
In Games we finished our rounders skills work and will be moving on to athletics skills next week.

In art the children have completed their picture of the gorgons.

Just a reminder about your creative homework to build a maze for Theseus and the Minotaur which is due in at the end of this month.
Reminders:
  • Please remember a daily reading session of about 10 minutes will really help your child’s progress. Also a few questions about what
  • they have read will help aid comprehension.
  • Please return homework folders every Wednesday so that new tasks can be added.
  • Please bring in P.E kits on Monday -  these will be sent home on Fridays.

Many Thanks for your continued support! Mr Askew and Mr Kerray
