Head Teacher's End Of Summer Term Message

Mark Westmoreland
Head Teacher, Bielefeld School
Dear Parents and Carers,

This year has flown by! I would like to take this opportunity to say a sincere and heart-felt thank you to all of our wonderful children, parents, staff and outside agencies that have contributed to placing Bielefeld School at the heart of our community. Without your hard work and dedication, none of what we achieve would be possible. Thank you.

Year 5 and 6 Split Year Group
Thank you to the parents who took the time to contact me recently about the decision to split Y5 and Y6. From the meetings, conversations and following the letter, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club is currently catering for 2-5 children on a daily basis. To ensure that it continues beyond the first half-term, please consider using this excellent facility. Please contact the school office for details.

After School Club
The school have been working with AWS to extend our after school provision. Currently AWS plans to run a Wednesday and Thursday after school club for pupils in KS1 between the hours of 1510-1700. The intention, at the last meeting, was to start from mid-September in the Youth Club area. More details will follow.

We intend to continue our commitment to twice-weekly after school clubs as well. This, together with the breakfast club, will only enhance the opportunities for our families.

This Week's Summer Concert
New Resources thanks to HQSCE
SCE continue to support us in maintaining a budget that is far superior to anything we would get in the UK.

For that, I am sure I speak on behalf of all of us, we are very grateful. We have taken recent delivery of a Mongolian Yurt, an amazing structure that will be used as an outdoor classroom next year.

We are also very grateful to Mr Paul Melton of HQSCE for helping to tailor the school budget so that it effectively meets the needs of our school, and to Tony Hodge for his continued support as our CSBM. A special mention needs to be given to Johanna Murphy AEO for Recruitment and Brenda Titley our Link IA at HQ SCE for their continued support.

Last but not least, one of our unsung heroes is Mrs Susan Coole. Susan was a Bielefeld School governor and Consortia Business Manager. Susan recently gave up a great deal of time to support us with our Arts Mark Gold application and has been supporting us with all things finance related whilst Tony Hodge has been focussing on closing schools.

Bus drivers and Bus escorts
Thank you to our bus drivers and bus escorts who have delivered such an outstanding service over the last year. We have been on many journeys together!

Free FS2 and KS1 Meals starts this September!
Thank you also to Sheila and the staff in the kitchen for continuing to provide high quality meals on a daily basis. Next September I am sure they will rise to the challenge of delivering free meals to every child in FS2, Year 1 and Year 2!

FS2 Starts full-time in September
FS2 children will be starting full-time from September 2nd, as will all KS1 and KS2 children in the school. The doors to FS2 will be open at 0830. You will be welcomed with open arms!

A final goodbye!
Mrs Hill, Mrs Dixon, Miss Barker and Mrs Mawson thank you, and goodbye. Your contributions will not be forgotten!

We look forward to seeing you all back safe, well and rested in September. In the meantime have a wonderful summer!

Best wishes,
Mark Westmoreland
