Staffing For The Next Academic Year

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you enjoyed reading your child’s report and wish everyone a happy and restful summer.

If you are moving on, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your wonderful children all of the best for the future. Each and every one of you will be missed. I would also like to say a special thank you to our Year 6 children who have been exemplary! Well done. I am sure the transition to secondary school will be smooth.

Next academic year, we have been able to recruit a number of excellent teachers. When organising the classes for September your children have again been the priority. We have therefore decided upon the following class structure:

I am thrilled to announce that we have secured the services of a number of excellent teachers!

Mrs Corbett joins us from the Sir John Mogg and is currently leading their FS2. She will be teaching FS2C.

Miss Caunter is a newly qualified teacher and comes highly recommended. She has recently completed her teaching qualification at Lister School. She will be teaching Y1C.

Mrs Pond-Barrett, as many of you will know already, has done an outstanding job after taking over in Y5 this term. We are delighted to have secured her services for at least another year, and she will move to Y4 PB.

Mrs Scannell was very impressive when she successfully completed her final teaching practice with us last year. If I could have employed her at the end of that year, I would have done! She will be returning as a newly qualified teacher, but has a wealth of experience of working in SCE schools. She will be teaching Y4S.

Miss Kinsey moves from Weser school to Bielefeld and has extensive experience of KS2 and is currently the KS2 leader at Weser. She will be teaching Y5/6 K.

Mrs Hood joins the year 5/6 team and is a fabulous addition to our team. Many of you will already be familiar with her work as she was responsible for the outstanding Y4 Romeo and Juliet performance earlier this year, and is currently working with Y5. She will be teaching Y5/6 H.

Finally we hope to appoint a new permanent FS Leader to replace Mrs Shields who moved in May. We will let you know the outcome in early September.

Miss Barker gained promotion to Assistant Headteacher at a school in the UK, and we wish her the best of luck. She will be missed, and I am sure she will do well.

Mrs Baxter has completed an outstanding job in FS2 since she took over from Mrs Shazell. We hope to see her back working as a supply teacher in the autumn term.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Westmoreland for the excellent job she has done in teaching Y4W this year.

You will also have noticed that Mrs Khan hasn’t been allocated a new class, yet she has recently been looking completely radiant! That is because she is expecting her first child in the autumn term. We will see her in September and will let you know when she starts her maternity leave. Our best wishes go with her and Mr Khan, and we are all looking forward to the new arrival and the promise of much baby talk in the staffroom!

Finally I would like to mention Mrs Whitticase, who has shouldered the main ‘burden’ of supply teaching this year on her own. She has been simply outstanding. Without her positivity and flexibility, I do not know what we would have done! She is an example to us all!

Yours sincerely,

Mark Westmoreland
