Year 1 Week 41 2014

“Thank you” to all parents/carers who came to our Parent Drop in Session last week. It was lovely to see the children enjoying their Literacy work with you.

In Literacy this week, we have continued our work related to the story of “Peace at Last” by Jill Murphy. The children have talked about how characters might express their feelings. We wrote inside speech bubbles, changing the text to show different voices that a character might choose. All children completed their first “Big Write” yesterday, rewriting the story.
And more Mathematics

In Mathematics we have been finding 1 more/2 more than a given number. We have also found 1 less/2 less than a given number. The children have used fingers, objects and number tracks to help them, if necessary.

Forest Schools

  • Please ensure that your child brings waterproof outdoor clothing and footwear, for Forest Schools every Tuesday.
  • As you know, we make sure that the children cover their arms and legs. However, we suggest that you check your child regularly for ticks, just in case. Thank you.

Thank you for your continued support. Mrs Hawker and Miss Caunter
