Year 1 Week 43 2014

The Leaf Man Cometh!
This week, our work has been linked to the story called “The Leaf Man” by Lois Ehlert. In fact, the Leaf Man blew through our classrooms on Tuesday night!

In Literacy we wrote about places that we have enjoyed visiting, explaining why. We have all been practising using “because” to add detail to our sentences. Every child also worked hard to leave a finger space between each word.

In Mathematics we have been comparing and ordering numbers. The children have been estimating how many objects there might be in a container. We have also been learning how to form one-digit and two-digit numbers correctly.

Holiday We hope that you all have a good holiday. We look forward to the children returning to school, refreshed, on Monday 3rd November.

Thank you for your continued support. Mrs Hawker and Miss Caunter
