Year 5/6 Week 45 2014

A Testing Time, This Morning
It has been lovely to see the children back after their holiday with such great enthusiasm for their learning this week. Many thanks for all the Remembrance poems that have been brought in. The children (and yourselves) have clearly put a lot of thought into these poems and we’re looking forward to sharing just a few of them in our Remembrance assembly on Tuesday.

The Remembrance assembly will be starting at 10.10 and the hall should be available from just before 10 for you to take your seats. We anticipate the assembly will take about 30min and refreshments will be available. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.

The creative homework projects have started to come into school and what fantastic models they are and with such interesting research! The deadline for these models is next Monday, however if this is a problem please don’t hesitate to let us know.

As well as preparing for our year group assembly, we are also thinking ahead to Christmas! Over this week and next week auditions will be taking place for our Christmas production as we hope to be able to give out parts for this by the time we go to Arnhem.

As you will be aware there is a ‘Book at Bedtime’ event happening in school on Friday 28th November. Those Y5/6 children, who have shown an interest in helping out at the event by reading to some younger children, have taken a letter home. Y5/6 children who would not like to help out do of course have the option of coming to the event to listen to a story themselves, read by an adult.

With just one more week to go until Arnhem, please do get in touch if you have any last minute questions.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Miss Graham & Mrs Creighton
