Year FS1 Week 48 2014

Baking Christmas Biscuits in our Special Kitchen
November has really flown by and Sunday sees the beginning of Advent.  Next week we will be talking about the German tradition of St. Nicholas – Sankt Nikolaus and learning a special song for the night before St Nicholas’ day. Google “Bald ist Nikolausabend da” for a sneak preview!!

Remember that next Friday is the F.O.B.S. Christmas Fayre, so send your children in with some coins and a bag to carry home the goodies and cakes they buy. FS1 usually visits the fayre early when it is less busy

The children have enjoyed a second busy week with The Gingerbread Man activities and the rooms have been full of the smell of ginger. The children very much enjoyed baking their own biscuits in the school’s specially designed children’s kitchen. We look forward to many more visits there in the New Year.

The FS1 Christmas production is “Happy Birthday baby Jesus” and we will begin to learn the songs very soon. We will give you more information about simple costumes. The production will take place on Thursday 11th December and will be followed by “Stay and Play”.

Snack next week: beans on toast, waffles, tomato soup & rolls, cereals and sandwiches.
Dates for your calendar:

Remember that FS1 finishes at 12.30 on Friday 19th December and that there is NO afternoon EDC that day. Spring term will start on Tuesday 6th January as Monday 5th January is an Inset day for teachers and the school will be closed.

Thank you for your support, The FS1 Team
