Year 1 Week 49 2014

Little Penguins
Year 1 Assembly: Thank you to all parents and carers who were able to support our Year 1 children during their assembly. We hope that you enjoyed the stories as much as we did!

In Literacy this week we have been investigating a break-in at school. Please don’t worry! Several clues suggested that the “visitor” may have been a rather large, stripy tiger! The children have been writing a factual report that Mr Westmoreland can send to the police.

In Mathematics we have been comparing and ordering numbers. We have also been adding three numbers by “spotting 10 or doubles”. E.g. to add 2+ 3+ 7 we “spotted” 3+ 7 = 10. Then we only needed to add 10 + 2 in order to find the total.

Forest Schools: The children will not need their equipment for Forest Schools next Tuesday as we are visiting a Christmas market that day. Please remember that your child will need to wear warm clothing on Tuesday 9th December. All Year 1 children must bring a packed lunch on that day too.

Thank you for your continued support. Mrs Hawker, Miss Caunter and the Year 1 Team
