Year 4 Week 50 2014

Christmas mice going through their routine
It’s nearly show time! The children have worked incredibly hard during our rehearsals to remember their lines; the words to all the songs and their cues for speaking, singing or moving!

Well done everyone! – We look forward to seeing you all for ‘Curtains up’ on Tuesday 12th December.  Please make sure that you are seated in the hall by 1:30pm.

In Maths this week, the children have completed some end of term assessments.  The children have all strived to do their very best and we are proud of how hard they have worked.

In Topic this week, the children have continued to deepen their understanding about the Roman invasion of Britain through drama and role play.
Roman invaders! More Mr. Fidler inspired art work.

We have begun a new unit of work in our Computing sessions, ‘Bringing Images to Life’. The children are using a program called ‘Scratch’ and have begun to understand the different functions of this program.  The children have been exploring blocks of instructions to form a simple code to tell their sprite what to do.  We will be using this program throughout next term.

Homework
  • Maths – Please continue working on recalling times table facts with corresponding division facts.
  • Reading – Please listen to your child read at least 5 times a week and record any reading that they do in their journals.
  • Please can you support your child in refining their lines for our performance, ensuring they are speaking clearly, expressively and with enough volume!
Thank you for your continued support. Have a great weekend!
