|Pondering the Victorians|
In Literacy we have looked in more depth at Shakespeare's Macbeth and identified the powerful vocabulary used.
In mathematics Mr.Askew's class have been working on multiplying and dividing numbers by 10 and solving word problems.Mr.Kerray's class have been looking at the value of 3 digit numbers and ordering these numbers from smallest to largest.
Our computing session this week saw the launch of a unit using the Scratch program. The children really enjoyed this and are already showing the teacher what to do!
In RE the children were introduced to the Christian symbolism of light.
Mr. Reeves showed us how to play a simple tune for London's Burning on the ukulele.
In art we made a simple Victorian toy called a thaumotrope and then took them home!
History this week saw us looking at the Victorian period in more depth.
Forest schools is proving to be good fun with Mrs Carroll at the helm!
There is mathematics and English homework this week. Could this please be handed in on Wednesday so the following weeks homework can be added.
- Remember to continue reading daily with your child, 10 minutes daily practice will really help them to improve. You could also discuss together the book you have read, again this is an important reading skill that the children need to develop. Please keep signing your child's journal to indicate that you have read with your child. Many thanks.
