Year 2 week 7 2015

Chinese New Year
The children have worked very hard this half term and should be proud of what they have achieved. They definitely deserve a rest!

Thank you for supporting our Karneval today. The children had a great time.

This week, the children have continued working on their non-chronological reports about dragons. They then drew and labelled another fantasy creature in preparation for their independent writing.

In maths, both groups have been finding missing numbers in number sentences, even when the equals sign is in a different place!

In Forest Schools this week, the children planted bulbs which we look forward to seeing in the future. After half term, our Forest School day will change to Wednesday.  Please continue sending in plenty of layers even as the weather improves.  It’s easier to take layers off than trying to warm children up if they get too cold.

The children have been set on-line homework as well as having an activity in their homework books. To access the maths activity, please visit www.activelearnprimary.co.uk. The children need to log in using their Education City username and password and the school code is x677.

As you are aware, our topic this term has been about China. The first Friday back after half term (28th February) will be our Year 2 China Day. The children will need to come to school dressed in Chinese outfits or in something red. We would like to invite parents in to join us on this day. More details will follow, but it would be great if you could join us for the whole day, half a day or even just half hour.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Mead, Mrs Halstead and the Year Two team.
