Year 3 Week 10 2015

This week in English we have continued our Talk for Writing unit based on the story of the Dragon Kite and are starting to explore the text.

Mr. Kerray’s mathematics group this week have been carrying out revision on key components of time: o’clock, half past and quarter past. Mr. Askew’s group have placed 3 digit numbers on a number line, revisited rounding to the nearest 10 and 100 and used a number line to count up when subtracting.

In RE the children were introduced to the Temptation of Jesus in the Desert (the beginning of the Christian festival of Lent)  through music and art.

In Computing the children successfully used the Scratch program to deliver a’ Knock Knock’ joke.

Mr Fidler continued his printing project in art based on the work of the Victorian designer William Morris.
Mr Reeves was supporting pupils in another school but would like us to practice our ukuleles at home!

A reminder about the creative homework project. Hopefully by now you will have got the speech ideas for your famous Victorian and started to practice them. Remember you can use cards as a prompt to help. We shall be inviting parents to the waxworks museum event on  Thursday, 19th March at 9:15am.

Please remember a daily reading session of about 10 minutes will really help your child’s progress. Also a few questions about what they have read will help aid comprehension.
Please bring in P.E kits on Monday -  these will be sent home on Fridays.

Many Thanks for your continued support!
Mr.Askew, Mr. Kerray, Mrs. Jefferys and Baker.
