|Talk 4 Writing - In action!|
In Maths, we have been finding factor pairs of numbers. Factor pairs are pairs of numbers that multiply together to give another number. (12 has the factor pairs; 1 and 12, 2 and 6, 3 and 4) We have also continued to develop our mental maths skills, our understanding of mathematical vocabulary and what mathematical operation is needed to solve simple word problems.

The children have found out about the ancient Maya from the buildings they left behind. They completed their own research about the city of Chichen Itza and created an information poster.
Literacy – The children have brought home the ‘Talk 4 Writing’ text map and text version of the chocolate room setting to learn. This will help the children to understand the structure and features of setting writing and therefore support the children in their own writing next week. Please support your child when they are ‘reading’ from the text map. Parents can use the text version to act as a prompt for the children.
Maths – The children have been allocated a new game to play on www.activelearnprimary.co.uk (log-in& password details inside the journal) - The game is called ‘Balloon Pop’ and the children need to identify factor pairs for a given number. Well done to all of the children who have played the maths games allocated to them on previous occasions. I can monitor who’s been playing which games and who hasn't
Reading – Please continue to listen to your child read at least 5 times a week and record any reading that they do in their journals.
Spellings – Children will bring home a new list of spelling words to learn on Monday.
