Year 6 Week 13 2015

Thank you to all of the parents who supported the SATs meeting on Wednesday evening. We are aware of all the hard work that is going on behind the scenes at home to support children with their test preparation at this very busy time.

For those parents that were unable to attend the meeting, we have sent out a revision pack which you can choose to use as much or as little as you wish. We hope that the children use the holiday to get some fresh air, exercise and recuperate.

In Maths this week children have been working through some examples of past SATs papers. Miss Kinsey’s maths group have also been focusing on aspects of handling data, shape and space. We have been interpreting line graphs and conversion graphs as well as solving area shapes including compound shapes. Mrs Hood’s class have been developing their understanding of answering questions mentally, along with adding large numbers.

In English, the children have completed their unit of work on discursive writing culminating in an extended write about whether or not children should wear school uniform.

The children have continued to impress Mr Reeves this week in Music. If your child is able to spend any time practising their instrument over the holidays then this will ensure that their skills continue to develop.

We hope that you all have a lovely Easter and look forward to seeing you in the summer term.

Mrs Creighton, Mrs Goddard & Mrs Grant.
