Year FS2 Week 12 2015

We have had a wonderful week learning about the life cycle of the butterfly and learning the days of the week by using the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and by learning a song – perhaps the children can sing it for you!
We had a fantastic time at the butterfly park on Thursday and a big thank you to the helpers and staff who helped make it such a great day! We saw some amazing, gigantic, colourful butterflies – in fact the children were so enthused we are intending to develop from their interest, their knowledge of symmetry and patterns by creating their own butterfly! Our class butterflies have spun their cocoons and we are waiting patiently for them to emerge (hopefully before the Easter holidays!).

Next week our learning will focus around the celebration of Easter; we will be busy making lots of surprises and treats to take home to share with you, and look at the tradition of Easter.
Thank you also very much for the 100% turnout for our Mother’s Day stay and play – the children thoroughly enjoyed pampering you!

Have a lovely weekend!
Best wishes from the FS2 team.
