Year 6 Week 15 2015

It is lovely to see everyone refreshed and energised ready for the new term ahead after a sunny Easter break.

Year Six have all risen to the challenge of an action packed first week back. You will be aware that children are looking at test materials regularly now to ensure that they are prepared for May.

We have a new resident at Bielefeld school, living just outside Mrs Carroll’s window in the nest box, giving Miss Kinsey’s class a reason to write. This week we have watched the bird on the nest and seen her clutch of ten eggs and used it as a stimulus for writing a spine poem.

In Maths we have been focusing on calculating area. This week we have moved from rectilinear shapes, to compound shapes and finding the surface area of wedges and cuboid s. Children have a homework pack this Friday that they can spend two weeks on at home.
