Year 3 Week 18 2015

The ancient Greeks are still here!!!!!!!
We are reading as many Greek myths and legends as possible. We continue to concentrate on the tale of Theseus and the Minotaur, our magazine covers are well on the way.

Mr. Kerray’s mathematics group this week have been doing some assessments and doubling two digit numbers with 5 and 0 in the units column.
Mr. Askew’s group have looked at strategies for multiplying a single digit by a multiple of 10.

In R.E. the children looked at a fortune line of the prodigal son. They also looked at a variety of images of the New Testament story, looking for key clues about the emotions of the story.

In Computing we continued our work on making a page for an on-line encyclopaedia.
(Don’t forget your child has log ins for educational sites in the front of their journal.)

Mr Fidler has continued the skill of wax relief to create images of Greek pottery.
Mr Reeves continues teaching the children skills for mastering the art of playing the ukulele!
Dr Oetker trip
Remember we will have swimming every Thursday till half term.

Please remember a daily reading session of about 10 minutes will really help your child’s progress. Also a few questions about what they have read will help aid comprehension.
Please bring in P.E kits on Monday - these will be sent home on Fridays.

Many Thanks for your continued support!
Mr. Askew, Mr. Kerray, Mrs. Jefferys and Mrs. Baker.
