Year 2 Week 21 2015

Wow, the first week back after the holiday has been really busy and action packed!  We hope that you all enjoyed the short break.

The week started with a walk around camp to look for signs that summer is on the way. At the duck pond we spotted a variety of creatures, including a very well camouflaged snail who was hiding amongst the leaves, and some fairly noisy ducks looking for somewhere to shelter. On the way round we called in to JB’s for a quick soft drink before making our way back to school.

In literacy we have continued to focus on reading comprehension. We are encouraging the children to review some of the books that they have read, stating what they liked or disliked about them. Some children have even commented about how information texts are organised, and how quickly new facts can be found in them.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Forest School event yesterday. We hope that you all enjoyed the activities as much as we did. The children really enjoyed sharing their experiences with family members and all agreed that they would like another picnic very soon!

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Mead, Mrs Halstead and The Year Two Team.
