Year 2 Week 1- 11th September 2015

The children have had a great start to Year 2 and we are looking forward to an exciting new learning journey this year. What a busy time we have had!
We have spent the past few days getting to know each other and learning the new routines for Year 2, our final year in KS1.
The children have enjoyed finding out how we learn, what helps us to learn and what type of learner we are. We have also explored our feelings and emotions and have created a colourful display to show this. Year 2 have had a brilliant time learning about the brain – ask us which side of the brain controls what! We have also enjoyed creating rooms in our brain in Art with Mr Fidler. In maths, we have been familiarising ourselves with a 100 square and ordering numbers to 100.
Well done to all those children who have already been reading at home – what a great start! Next week we will be trialling getting the children to choose their reading books for the whole week, so books will only be changed once a week. More info to follow!
Please remember to bring PE kit in on Monday and take home on Friday.
Have a great weekend J
