Head Teacher's Message - 04 Dec 15

We hope that you enjoyed the Christmas Fayre today. I thank all of the staff and children who worked hard to create beautiful and tasty treats to buy, as well as sell our bric-a-brac.

Together, we raised a stunning €887.47 for the School Fund!

Hopefully, everyone visited Santa and told him their Christmas wishes. We do have a direct link to Father Christmas, via our red Santa post box in Reception, so please bring your letters in.

Please check lost property (Mrs. Mason’s Christmas wish!) We have a large amount of lost property in school. Can I ask, when you come into school over the next few days, for productions say, that you have a look to see if anything belongs to your child? Thank you. We recycle unclaimed items regularly, via the Thrift Shop.

We are focussing on the power of the 5 Rs, to make life-long learners: Responsibility, Respect, Resilience, Risk taking and Reflective. The closing date for the poster competition is now extended to Monday 07 Dec 15.

Over the next few weeks, in school, our children will be working on Christmas-themed mathematical problems. The NRich maths website has some excellent Advent calendars for children, to complete one Maths problem a day.

Our diary dates, for you to cut out and keep, are listed on our school newsletter, which is emailed to parents and carers weekly. If you seem to be missing these newsletters, please check that the School Office has your correct address(es). We send emails to parents and carers directly, to keep them informed of important times and places.

Our Christmas Lunch will take place next week, for the children who pre-ordered in November. All other children must come to school with packed lunches on that day, please

The last day of the term will be a non-uniform (Mufti) day, with a Star Wars theme! The school will close at 13.15pm. Please collect your children promptly and let the office know of any changes to your collection routine, as soon as possible.

The School is collecting filled shoe boxes for Christmas. These will be given to the Arbeiter Samariter- Bund in Bielefeld. If you would like to support this charity, please send your shoe boxes to school by Friday 11 December now. Suggested items for filling the children’s shoe boxes are small pairs of gloves, hats, inexpensive toys, colouring pencils and books, as well as small packs of sealed sweets. Thank you for your generosity.
