To celebrate Number Day, and raise money for the NSPCC charity, we invite our children to come to school on Friday 5th February not in uniform, but in clothes with a maths theme instead! Please feel free to donate a Euro to this fine charity, on the day.
|Big Numbers, Every Day at Bielefeld School|
For example, our FS1 & FS2 children will be taking part in a mystery maths hunt and our KS2 children will be taking part in a brain-teasing maths quiz.
Each class will be making its own coin trail too, to see which class can make the longest, as well as which class can make the highest value. So, please raid your Euro copper jars and send the coins to school with your children, in a sealed envelope, from Monday of next week onward. Your 1, 2 and 5 Euro cent coppers will also be donated to the NSPCC. Thank you.
The Grand Finale of Number Day will be a balloon launch at 14:30 hrs. Come and join us, to watch hundreds of balloons sail away, sending unanswered maths problems skyward.
We will send the balloons in the hope that someone will find the problem and return it to school, with a solution. There will be cake stalls in the School Hall from 14:00 hrs onward. Yum!
Year 6 Residential
The children in Y6 will arrive home with exciting news tonight.
They have been finding out about this year's residential today. The children will travel to Texel, a small island in the Netherlands, to enjoy a week of sun, fun and fresh air.
They will also be taking a step back in time on this beautiful island.
Have a good weekend,
PS Look out for this week's news reports on the newsletter, which is emailed to parents and carers weekly. Please contact the School Office Staff, if you are not receiving your copy.
