Weekly Round up
Dear parents and children,
Happy New Year to you all!
I hope you have all had a relaxing Christmas break. The children have been telling me about their holidays and in particular the wonderful presents they received. This first newsletter of the term is full of calendar dates as well as reminders of things happening in school. We will resume our normal newsletter next week.
Next week our new curriculum theme will be launched. Topic webs will be uploaded onto the website within the next 2 weeks so you can see which parts of the curriculum your child is covering this term. For those of you who have asked about the expectations in English and Mathematics please have a read of your child’s journal which sets these out.
Homework and reading
Your child works hard each day at school but is also given homework and reading to do at home. The amount depends upon the year group. Over the last term when I have spoken to teachers we have discussed the children’s progress. The impact of regular homework and reading on progress is noticeable. Therefore I would ask all of you for your support with your child’s homework.
You can find our homework policy which offers suggestions for ways in which you can help your child on page 15 of your child’s journal. Thank you.
