Head Teacher's Message 7th March 2016

Weekly Round up

Dear parents and children,

It has been another busy term and it’s hard to believe that we are at the end of it. Highlights for me have been the whole school activities we have done such as World Book day, Hat day and the fabulous Beatles work. Thank you to you all for helping to make the school a vibrant place to be.

I would like to take the opportunity to personally thank you all for help and support that you showed our Wear A Hat Day event at Bielefeld School which was held to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research. The day was a huge, huge success and exceeded all of my expectations but without your support we wouldn’t have been able to achieve so much.Together we have raised a STAGGERING €3500 for Brain Tumour Research and this looks set to rise some more.  This is incredible!  Thank you.  My friend Carrie and her family are truly grateful for all that you have done to support the cause and she asked me to pass on her sincere thanks and gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who donated cakes, biscuits and sweety treats for our Big Hatty Bake Off.

Thank you to everyone at the Naafi, the QM stores and the Officer’s Mess who allowed us to beg, steal or borrow cake boxes, crockery, chairs and serving platters.

Thank you to Debs Thorne, Wendy White and Sue White for the donations of such beautiful cakes for the raffle.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at school on the day.

Thank you for all of your donations!

For more information, please see: https://www.braintumourresearch.org/ or the blog my

friend and family have created: www.hillsandheadwinds.com

As we have raised so much money we have actually paid for a day’s research at one of the Centres of Excellence.  Each day costs £2,740.  When supporters have raised enough for a day they are invited to a tour of one of the four Centres and to place a tile on a Wall of Hope.
